The Rivers State Police Command has arrested the Traditional Ruler of Aluu Community in Rivers State as directed by the State government.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Ben Ugwuegbulam said the traditional ruler was arrested as part of investigations to the killing of four university of port harcourt students by the Aluu Community.

Ugwuegbulam also said more arrests have been made in connection to the case, with the help of the video clips made available to the police.

The State Commissioner for Information Ibim Semenitari had in a radio broadcast said that the state government condemened the incident and has ordered the arrest of the traditional ruler.

It would be recalled that four university of port harcourt students were killed by some members of the Aluu Community for aledgedly stealing phones and laptop.

But the students have vehemently condemened the killings and have planned a protest to express the injustice.

The police says investigation into the killings have commenced and advised the students not to take laws into their hands.
